Care and Repair
Care Guide & Repair Policy
Effective Date: July 11, 2026
This Repair Policy applies to purchases made through lavieenrosejewels.com.
General Care
Each La Vie en Rose Jewelry piece is crafted with care and intended to be cherished for years. Proper care will help preserve its beauty and longevity.
Our 18K Gold Vermeil, Sterling Silver, and stainless steel pieces are water-resistant for everyday wear, including handwashing, light rain, and sweat. Remove before swimming, showering, or prolonged water exposure, and avoid chlorine, salt water, and harsh chemicals. Fine Jewelry (14K gold and diamonds) and any piece featuring pearls, genuine or imitation, are not water-resistant at all and should be removed before washing, swimming, or exercising — see the material-specific sections below. Across all materials, avoid direct contact with harsh chemicals, chlorine, salt water, fragrance oils, and hair products, as they can tarnish or weaken plating, dull gemstones, or damage pearls over time. Always wear your rubber or metal safety backs with earrings to prevent loss. When not in use, store your jewelry in a dry, protected space, preferably in its original pouch or a lined jewelry box.
Sterling Silver & Gold Vermeil Care
Sterling Silver and 18K Gold Vermeil pieces are water-resistant for everyday wear and can be worn while washing your hands or in light rain. Remove before swimming, showering, or prolonged water exposure, and avoid chlorine, salt water, and harsh chemicals such as perfumes, lotions, and cosmetics — these can dull the finish over time even on a water-resistant piece. Stones and crystals are fragile; avoid impact or extreme temperatures. To restore shine, wipe gently with a soft polishing cloth in one direction. Avoid tissue or paper towels, as they can scratch the surface. A silver cleaner may be used only on pure Sterling Silver (not on gold or rose gold vermeil). Cord bracelets can be cleaned with a soft sponge and mild soap in lukewarm water.
Exception: if your piece features pearls (genuine or imitation), treat it as not water-resistant regardless of the metal setting — remove before washing, swimming, or any exposure to moisture or chemicals, as water can damage the pearl's surface over time.
Each piece includes a protective anti-tarnish finish and water-resistant plating, but the finish may still fade with prolonged chemical exposure or improper care.
Fine Jewelry Care
Unlike our Sterling Silver and Gold Vermeil pieces, Fine Jewelry (14K gold and diamonds) and pieces featuring pearls are not water-resistant and require more careful handling.
Storage: Store your La Vie en Rose Fine Jewelry in a dry place when not worn, ideally in its original pouch or a lined box.
Cleaning & Maintenance: Wash gently with mild soap and lukewarm water, rinse well, and dry with a soft cloth. Avoid harsh cleaners or chemical dips containing abrasives. Keep away from perfumes, lotions, and cleaning agents. Remove your jewelry before swimming or exercising. Chlorine and salt water can dull gold and damage gemstones and pearls. After exposure to moisture or sweat, clean and dry your jewelry promptly to preserve its finish.
14K Gold & Diamond Jewelry
Our 14K Yellow, White, and Rose Gold collections, including white diamond pieces, are designed for everyday wear but should be treated with care.
Remove fine jewelry during physical activity or swimming to avoid scratches and abrasion. Chlorine and salt water can erode metal and rhodium plating over time; avoid prolonged exposure. To maintain radiance, gently clean with a soft cloth and mild soap solution, then dry completely. Professional ultrasonic cleaning is recommended once per year for heirloom or high-value pieces.
These care instructions are provided as general guidance. La Vie en Rose Jewelry is not liable for tarnishing, discoloration, or damage resulting from normal wear or failure to follow the care instructions above; see our Repair Policy below and our Warranty Policy for what is and is not covered.
